On 26 January, 2025, we were fortunate enough to be able to meet with a senior fisherman from the Poovaar village. Our team members Jobil and Asha had an insightful conversation with this senior member of the Poovar fishing community in the campus of the Poovar parish church. He described for us in detail the Yelam Vali Paattu - the traditional chant sung during the operation of the Beach Seine.
